TOURNAMENT UPDATE

One thing that makes this tournament unique compared to most others is our fundraising aspect with The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario (which is completely optional).  Not only can kids play hockey with their friends, score goals and possibly win their division, they could leave with some really cool prizes all by helping raise money for kids and their families in a time of need.

All you have to do is raise a minimum of $25 dollars and you will receive a ballot for our draw to win one of the prizes listed below.  So for example, if you raise $200, you get 8 ballots entered to win.  The more you raise, the better your chances are of winning.

The prizes are not finalized but here is what we have to date.

1)  Beats Headphones
2)  Blackberry Playbook
3)  Apple IPad 2
4)  Samsung 7″ Galaxy Tablet
5)  Samsung 10″ Galaxy Tablet
6)  Google Nexus 7 Tablet
7)  Acer 10.1″ Iconia Tablet
8)  Apple Ipod Touch 4th Generation
9)  32″ LCD TV
10) 22″ LCD TV
Additional prizes will be listed at a later date.

We understand that not every team will be interested in fundraising for this tournament but for those kids who are, we think you should be rewarded for your efforts.  Please note that not every skater needs to participate on your team.  If the fundraising portion of this tournament is mentioned to everyone and only two kids decide to participate, we welcome them to do so.

Last year we had a Peewee team hold a bottle drive in their local town.  All the kids and parents participated in the event.  Many parents told us that will be something they never forget.  Their kids came together with the support of their community and helped raise over $900 in bottle returns.  The kids had the time of their lives and they were very proud of their accomplishments.  We challenge you and your team to come up with a unique way of getting everyone on your team to participate.  Please feel free to share your success stories with us during the tournament.

Looking forward to seeing you there in November.

Greg & Tara Liebrock

WELCOME

Welcome to The Capitals Cup Challenge home page.  You will find all the information pertaining to this years tournament to date.  Be sure to continue to check in once in a while as we are constantly working on new things for this tournament and you will want to be the first one to know.

Just a reminder to all the new teams who haven’t heard it yet but your team can play for free in this tournament.  You want to know how?  It’s simple.  The Capitals Cup Challenge has partnered with The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario.  All teams are given the opportunity to collect money through a variety of different ways (and we will help you).  Your team will receive one ballot for the first $1000 and an additional ballot for every $500 afterwords.  Your team could play for free.

There will also be numerous individual draws for players as well.  Players will be able to earn a ballot for these draws with every $50 in pledges.  We are currently working on the list of prizes to be won.  You will definitely want to check back for this information.

FUNDRAISING IS ENCOURAGED BUT IS COMPLETLY OPTIONAL!!!!!

Spaces are limited so don’t miss out on the one of a kind tournament.
