CAPITALS CUP CHALLENGE
PARTICIPANTS HELP WISHES COME TRUE!
Tournament organizers Greg & Tara Liebrock will present funds raised through the Southpoint Minor Hockey Association’s Capitals Cup Challenge to the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of Southwestern Ontario. Three wish families sponsored by the event will also be attending the presentation on Wednesday, April 4th at 2:30 p.m. at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex.
Teams from across Ontario, as far away as Sault Ste. Marie, as well as a team from Cincinnati Ohio, competed in the Southpoint Minor Hockey Association’s Capitals Cup Challenge at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex and Wheatley Arena from November 25th to 27th, 2011. Teams who raised pledges in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario received a ballot for the chance to win their registration fee back. A grand total of $17,110.31 was raised through this year’s event,
bringing the tournament’s two-year total to over $40,000 raised in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario! Learn more at http://capitalscupchallenge.ca
Since its inception in 1986, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario has been granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Currently, there are over 120 wishes in progress throughout Southwestern Ontario, including nine wishes in Essex County. As wish requests increase, so too does the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario’s need for your continued support. Look to your family, friends, co-workers or neighbours.
